Mary Lisa Bobotas Joins MAZE Resolutions PA

February 22, 2023 – MAZE Resolutions PA is pleased to announce the addition of Mary Lisa Bobotas. She concentrates her practice on facilitating civil mediation cases as well as being a trial strategy consultant. As an experienced mediator, Mrs. Bobotas has mediated over 100 civil county court cases in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. She is sought out for her compassionate and successful handling of banking, business, contracts, litigation and real estate matters involving a wide range of cultures. She helps individuals to resolve their legal issues with an experienced and thoughtful approach to obtain results.

Mrs. Bobotas has a wide range of experience as a skilled in-house counsel, delivering legal support to the highly competitive and complex South Florida banking and real estate markets. She was Senior Corporate Counsel, Senior Vice President of Litigation and Legal Process for Iberiabank fka Sabadell United Bank. Mrs. Bobotas managed all the institutional litigation across the bank’s entire Southeast U.S. footprint, along with continuing to support the South Florida market in all areas of the bank. 

Prior to joining Iberiabank, Mrs. Bobotas was a partner at Cohen & Bobotas. She represented Sabadell United Bank fka Mellon United National Bank as outside general counsel where she handled numerous legal matters, including operations, credit and litigation. Mrs. Bobotas also approved loan documentation, closed loans, issued title insurance policies and provided daily support to the branches, credit and operations departments. Mrs. Bobotas started her career as an Assistant State Attorney in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mrs. Bobotas has conducted 40 jury trials,   hundreds of non-jury trials, and numerous depositions and hearings.  She was appointed a Traffic Hearing Officer for Miami-Dade County in 2022 where she conducts trial, pretrial, compliance and motion hearings.

Mrs. Bobotas earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in 1993 and holds a  Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Barry University in 1989. She also became a Level II Title Agent for Attorneys Title Insurance Fund from 2004-2012 until becoming an in-house counsel. Mrs. Bobotas holds and has held various Board positions on the local and national level.  She has also been a featured speaker for legal panels in South Florida. What’s more, Mrs. Bobotas is a Florida Supreme Court Certified County and Civil Court Mediator.
